Spring is here and it’s time for Pedal Power!
Please join us for our first event of 2025 on Saturday, April 5th 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
We will meet at the pavilion at the Heritage Park/Meadowbrook Road parking lot in Blacksburg (also known as the Gateway trail lot/bike skills parking lot).
We plan to learn and practice bike skills, ride, make a fun craft and have some snacks. Participation is FREE! Please invite a friend and RSVP by Sunday, March 30th.
Pedal Power is a NRVYCA program with the goal of getting more girls on bikes. Through social group rides and skills clinics, Pedal Power is designed to introduce girls aged 5-12 to mountain biking in a fun, comfortable, and supportive environment. Pedal Power is expanding and now offers rides for middle and high school girls of all mountain biking skills and abilities!
Pedal Power was launched in Spring 2022 with events for girls led by all women mentors as well as youth riders from the NRV Composite and Blacksburg High School race teams.
Pedal Power is for girls of all abilities and experience levels. Ideally, riders will have a pedal bike and be comfortable pedaling and braking. We can teach the rest!
Pedal Power welcomes all riders that identify or express as girls.
We had an awesome time hitting the trails with Pedal Power riders and mentors in October 2022 at McDonald Hollow Trails.
Stay tuned for more fun to come!
