NRVYCA Fall Season & NICA Race Series

The NICA Fall Race Series is an opportunity to experience youth mountain bike riding and racing as part of the NRV Composite and Blacksburg High teams; both NRV and BHS teams practice together along with non-racers as part of the larger NRVYCA. The season runs from August through October and offers athletes ages 5th-12th grade the opportunity to race with athletes across the state. Here in the New River Valley, the NRVYCA sponsors elementary aged athletes through high school senior age and provides opportunities to practice on our local trails with certified coaches.

Summer Social Rides

Information Meetings

Summer social rides are a great way to try riding with the team in a low commitment environment. Social rides are open to riders going into 1st through 12th grade. Please email us at nrvyca@gmail.com if you are interested in joining. Dates for social rides this summer are July 9th, 21st, and 29th.

Let's Ride!

Ready to sign up for the fall season? Fall NRVYCA rides and practices will be open to all levels of youth mountain bikers who are in 1st-12th grade for the 2025-26 School Year. NICA races with the NRV Composite and Blacksburg High teams are open to all students in 5th-12th grade. Fill out the form below to register with the team for the fall season!

Practices starts Tuesday August 12 and takes place weekly on Tuesdays (5:30-7:30pm) and Sundays (3:30-5:30pm). Races will be on Saturdays.

Participation Fees

$75/rider per season OR
$150/family per season (2 or more student athletes)

These fees helps the NRVYCA cover important operating costs like insurance, coach training, first aid kit supplies, and equipment.
